How it works
Step 01
You answer 5 short questions
About your last few roles, your education, your skills, and the job you're applying for. Plain English. No bullet points required, we write those.
Step 02
AI reads the JD and rewrites
Mirrors the job description's language. Surfaces transferable skills you undersold. Flags keywords your resume is missing for ATS scanners.
Step 03
You review, then download
See the tailored output before you commit. Tweak the inputs if anything's off. Then download a clean, ATS-friendly PDF.
A note on honesty
We rewrite. We don’t invent. The AI never adds numbers, claims, or experience that you didn’t tell it about. If a bullet would benefit from a number you didn’t share, the AI flags it as a placeholder so you can fill it in honestly. Your resume should be true.
Common questions
Resume tailoring, answered.
The questions people most often ask about tailoring a resume to a specific job, whether AI resume builders are worth using, and how ours works.
How do I tailor my resume to a specific job description?
Paste the JD, then rewrite each bullet so it mirrors the language the JD uses, leads with a verb, and includes a number where you can. The QuotaClub resume builder does this for you in under a minute, free, for any industry. It rewrites your existing experience without inventing facts and flags ATS keywords from the JD that your resume is missing.
What's the best free AI resume builder for non-tech-sales roles?
QuotaClub's resume builder is industry-agnostic. It tailors resumes for nurses, teachers, accountants, baristas, retail managers, engineers, and career changers — not just tech-sales candidates. There are no paywalls, no hidden tiers, and no template upsells; the full tool, three template designs, and PDF + DOCX export are all free.
Do AI resume builders work for career changers?
They work especially well for career changers, because the highest-leverage thing in a career-change resume is translating prior experience into the language of the new field. Strong AI resume tools surface transferable skills you didn't think to mention and rewrite generic responsibilities into outcomes the new industry recognises. QuotaClub adds a dedicated 'hidden strengths' coaching note for exactly this audience.
Will an AI-generated resume pass an ATS (applicant tracking system)?
Yes, if the resume is single-column, uses standard section names (Experience, Education, Skills), and avoids text inside images, tables, or sidebars. The QuotaClub builder produces ATS-friendly PDFs by default and warns you when you pick a sidebar template that's higher-risk for ATS parsing. The DOCX export uses native Word lists and headings rather than typed glyphs, which ATS parsers handle correctly.
Is the QuotaClub resume builder actually free?
Yes, fully free. There's no signup wall before you can use it, no premium template tier, and no payment to download the PDF or DOCX. We collect your email at the download step so we can send you a fresh copy if you lose the file and so we can reach out about tech-sales career options if you're interested — neither is required to keep using the tool.
Can I use the resume builder as a student or recent graduate?
Yes — the wizard accepts internships, casual roles, retail jobs, and volunteer experience as valid past roles, and treats education + extracurriculars as first-class inputs rather than afterthoughts. For students with limited paid experience, the AI leans harder on coursework, projects, and volunteer work in the professional summary and surfaces transferable skills that recruiters look for in junior hires.
Should I export my resume as a PDF or a DOCX (Word document)?
PDF is the safer default — it preserves layout exactly across every device and is what most recruiters expect. Use DOCX when the application portal explicitly asks for an editable file, when an internal recruiter has asked you to make small edits before they submit you, or when you want to keep tweaking the resume yourself in Word. QuotaClub exports both from the same tailored content, so you can grab whichever you need.
How long should each bullet point on a resume be?
One line, ideally 18 to 32 words, starting with an action verb and ending with a concrete outcome. Two-line bullets are acceptable for senior roles where context genuinely matters; anything longer than two lines stops scanning well. The QuotaClub builder writes bullets to this rule by default and lets you click any bullet to rewrite just that one if you want a different angle.
